"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside of you" - Maya Angelou
“Trauma handicaps our ability to adapt and adjust to our external world.”
I’ve heard things like, “Lately I can’t sleep” “I shutdown” “I am irritable or angry all the time” “I can’t concentrate” “I have nightmares or intrusive thoughts” “ I don’t understand why I am the way I am” “Why do I keep getting into the same type of toxic relationships” “I am deeply sad ” “I just feel blah”…..
If you have had any of these thoughts, or similar thoughts, our work together can help you heal to live the life you desire.

Complex Trauma
Some people will experience trauma in their lifetime whether it’s emotional abuse or neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse, abandonment, being bullied, physical assault, domestic violence, or the sudden death of a loved one.
While many people can recover from trauma over time with the love and support of family and friends and bounce back with resiliency, others may discover effects of lasting trauma, which can cause a person to live with depression, resentment, fear, low self esteem, confusion about what constitutes a loving relationship, or avoid developing meaningful interpersonal and intimate relationships.
In these circumstances, the support, guidance, and assistance of a therapist is fundamental in facing the pain to allow you to heal from the trauma.
